COMMUNICATION
The majority of ICOBP’s interviewees said that one of the greatest difficulties in globalization and expanding their business to the international level is communication, both written and oral. Although for the most part translation of English, Spanish, Mandarin and French are common, many other languages still have to be addressed. Once translation of the languages near perfection, many dialects will be addressed.
Whether it is in conversational meetings or in writing, generally, translators are brought into the communication process. Many times translation goes astray because of interpretation and perception. One simple word can lead to a difference in perception, varying dramatically from what a message is intended to convey. When entering into business deals and contracts, it is imperative that the intended content is perceived and understood the same by all parties.
ICOBP is working with several technology groups, who will be supportive and helpful to the members for enhancement of the communication process. These technology firms may become sponsors, affiliates or joint venture partners with ICOBP.
